The Resolutions Will Not Be Televised

The start of a new year holds out the promise of a brighter future. We resolve that this year we will spend more time with family and friends, shed those extra pounds, and break all of our bad habits. As writers, we vow to be more disciplined, write five pages a day, and finish that novel. Carolyn Kellogg at Jacket Copy has a list of 37 Literary Resolutions for 2011. Here are some of the resolutions that we had hoped to see (but didn’t):

Most people break their resolutions by mid-January, but we are fairly confident that Mr. Clemens will honor his pledge to stay dead and Ms. Steel will show her resolve and actually write that romance novel she’s been bottling up inside.
