M & M Twins Celebrate Seventy

Maxine Hong Kingston Maxine Hong Kingston and Malcolm Margolin claim to have been separated at birth seventy years ago. The white-mained Woman Warrior and her pogonotrophic partner in crime were reunited last night at a gala birthday bash held for the literary twins at Heyday‘s office in Berkeley where the distinguished duo were fêted by family, friends and fans.

Malcolm Margolin As is typical of Heyday soirées, copious amounts of food and wine were consumed and laughter was ever-present. Most revelers enjoyed live music in the backyard while a small, dedicated cadre of Giants fans huddled around a transistor radio in the back office. Party-goers left with smiles on their faces and doggy bags full of sushi, pad thai, and skewers of chicken satay.

A good time was had by all, and&#8212in case you’re wondering&#8212the Giants won 11-7. Just one more thing to celebrate.
